Founded and operated by Lewis "Lew" Lipnick, principal contrabassoonist for the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC, and internationally respected audio journalist, LipnickDesign (LD) specializes in creating very high quality audio and video systems, studios, and high resolution, full-scale cinema theaters. All systems are custom designed for the client's individual sonic, musical and visual tastes, and lifestyle. LD also specializes in "ground up" acoustical design and sound isolation, and acoustical treatment of existing commercial and residential spaces. As an independent consulting/design firm, LipnickDesign works on an hourly, daily, or project fee. LipnickDesign is not affiliated with any retail shops, manufacturers, or installation firms. The LD team, under the direction of Mr. Lipnick, includes electrical and acoustical engineers who are also actively involved in the post production film industry. This team is able to draw upon a collective knowledge unavailable anywhere else, in order to create systems and acoustical spaces that continue to define the state of the art in two and multi-channel sound reproduction, full-scale cinema screening rooms, home theaters, and multi-media, multi-room distributed systems.
But what really sets LipnickDesign apart from all others, is the fact that it is operated by a professional major symphony orchestra musician. With 35 years of experience performing under the greatest conductors, in the finest concert halls throughout the world, Mr. Lipnick's approach to sound design follows his parallel profession as a performer; the musical integrity of the system must come first. That is why LipnickDesign systems bring the listener "just that much closer" to the live musical experience and the impact of true full-scale cinema.
LipnickDesign clients have included world famous conductors, United States Senators, high profile corporate CEO's, attorneys and physicians, and internationally renowned architects. A select client list and curriculum vitae are available upon request.
